Dr. Jonathan Tsao

Dr. Tsao (pronounced “sow”) is passionate about helping patients achieve exceptional vision while preserving their long-term eye health. His approach blends clinical expertise, advanced technology, and highly personalized care to create an experience that is both comprehensive and thoughtfully tailored to each patient.

His interest in optometry began from the other side of the exam chair. As a child with thick glasses—and little enthusiasm for the infamous eye puff test—Dr. Tsao became fascinated by the impact great vision could have on everyday life. Those early experiences ultimately inspired a deeper appreciation for the art and science of optometry: the ability to enhance vision, identify and manage eye disease, and make a meaningful difference in a patient’s quality of life.

Dr. Tsao earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin before receiving his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Throughout his clinical education, he developed extensive experience in medical eye care, myopia management and orthokeratology, dry eye treatment, glaucoma, and binocular vision.

His training included rotations at the Vision Source Ambulatory Surgical Center, Glaucoma Ocular Diagnostic and Medical Eye Clinic, and Binocular Vision Training Clinic. He further advanced his clinical expertise through internships focused on ocular disease and surgical care.

At Community Eye Clinic in Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Tsao received specialized training in dry eye disease, specialty contact lenses, and ocular emergencies. He also completed advanced clinical training through Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, managing complex ocular disease cases at W.W. Hastings Hospital.
