Hello, I’m Dr. Tsao (pronounced sao) and I was born and raised in Sugar Land, TX. I’ve been visiting the optometrist since the age of five. I was the kid sporting the stylish coke bottle glasses everyone wished they had. The patient who could not sit still for the eye puff test or tell the difference between one or two. Over the years as a patient, I was able to witness the evolution of optometry. I was fascinated by the therapeutic optometrist’s ability to treat and manage ocular diseases and decided to pursue my career in optometry.
Upon graduation from the University of Texas at Austin, I came home in pursuit of my doctorate at the University of Houston College of Optometry. I completed my clinical rotations at the Vision Source Ambulatory Surgical Center, Glaucoma Ocular Diagnostic and Medical Eye Clinic, and Binocular Vision Training Clinic.
My internships specialized in Ocular Disease and Refractive/Ocular Surgery. I interned at the Community Eye Clinic in Fort Worth, TX, where I managed and treated ocular diseases including dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. My other internship was at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. The program at NSU provided advanced training in ocular disease and surgery, where I performed surgical procedures including Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, Laser Peripheral Iridotomy and YAG Laser Capsulotomy. At NSU, I also worked at the W.W Hastings Hospital where I treated ocular emergencies.
I am very fortunate to have gained invaluable experiences working at various practices. Eye Theory is a culmination of the knowledge and skills developed over the years. I want to improve the quality of life for others, as optometry has done for me. I’d be honored to be your primary eye care provider and have you join our family.

Why Optometry?
I’ve always been interested in the anatomy of the eye and how vision can really impact one’s life. I love helping others and have a passion for fashion. At Eye Theory, I have the perfect opportunity to do both!
Favorite frame line?
My favorite frame line is Tom Ford. I love their fashion forward approach. You can not only see but feel the quality difference of a Tom Ford frame. A true statement piece.
Do you have any hobbies?
Swimming. I am currently in the process of obtaining a scuba diving certification

Why Optometry?
I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in the healthcare industry. Optometry appealed to me because of the profession’s diversity in healthcare and fashion.
Favorite frame line?
My favorite frame line is Salt. I love their concept of drawing inspiration from the beautiful world around us to create timeless designs.
Do you have any hobbies?
I am a nationally qualified bikini competitor and a posing coach for the NPC

I love watching and playing sports, being outdoors, and traveling.
