Hi, I am Dr. Sanjay Nancherla and I was raised in San Antonio, TX – a true native! I received my Bachelor of Science from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and earned my doctorate at the University of Houston College of Optometry. I completed my clinical rotations in ocular disease at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas, TX and surgical rotations at NSUOCO in Tahlequah, OK.
My externships had special emphasis on ocular disease, glaucoma, dry eye, diabetes, macular degeneration, cataract evaluation, emergencies, surgical procedures with pre and postoperative management. I trained in laser procedures including Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, YAG Laser Capsulotomy, Laser Peripheral Iridotomy, and minor eyelid surgeries at Northeastern State University. I also worked at the W.W. Hastings hospital where I encountered and treated a variety of eye diseases and emergencies.
During my optometry schooling, I was heavily involved in corneal research, tutoring, mentoring, and scientific presentations. I became a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Organization for Academic Honors and was awarded the Cooper Vision Contact Lens Clinical Excellence Award - for Highest Achievement in Contact Lens Induced and Related Disease.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing basketball with friends and traveling with my family. As a new dad, I enjoy creating wonderful memories with my newborn daughter. I also have to say, I am a big spurs fan!
