Dr.Karbasch and his assist Sahar were wonderful. They did a very thorough exam and explained everything so clearly. No optometrist had ever spent so much with me to make sure that I get the most accurate prescription for my glasses. This was my best medical appointment in the past several years.

Providing some pricing transparency.

Even with decent insurance (SuperiorVision), I had to pay $209 examination fee for glasses and contact lenses.

For the glasses exam, the minimum fee is $74, because the eye exam co-pay is $35 and the Optomap is an additional $39 (cannot opt out).

For the contact lens exam, it will be be $35 or $135 (if astigmatism is present; cannot opt out).

The office is otherwise beautiful, modern and clean. They validate garage parking which is a nice bonus.

Dr. Pillai and his staff are such a great team! Wonderful, punctual service where they take the time to address your concerns and do thorough examinations. I had them treat me for dry eye and I had substantial improvement after a few sessions. Also a very convenient location for anyone working downtown. Highly recommend!

At the midtown location, I initially that the staff wanted to help, but it was all about money, I have diabetes yet they didn't want to address that issue, while still charging me over $1000 out of pocket. Before going there check out other alternatives then them, you'll save yourself a lot money and heartache.

My mom experienced a sudden vision issue about a day ago, and we were so relieved that Eye Theory (West University) was open on the weekend. Sahar was incredibly accommodating and fit us in for a 2:30 PM appointment on the same day.

Dr. Karbaschi was outstanding—attentive, patient, and very thorough in conducting all the necessary exams. He carefully reviewed my mom’s medical history and took the time to answer every question with compassion and clarity.

We especially appreciated how welcoming and understanding the clinic was, which made a huge difference for my parents, non-native English speakers. I highly recommend Eye Theory (west university), especially for anyone feeling anxious or dealing with language barriers. Truly a top-notch experience!

I had a very disappointing experience with Eye Theory. I clearly communicated that I was in urgent need of an emergency pair of glasses, as I wear daily contacts and do not have glasses. Despite this, they refused to provide me with even a trial pair of contacts when I came in for my appointment and they asked me to remove my daily’s—even when I offered to pay for them. I found that unreasonable and unhelpful, especially given the urgency of my situation.

What made things worse was the complete lack of communication. I was never told that the doctor would not be in, even though I made it clear from Monday that I needed the glasses by a certain time due to an upcoming flight. When Thursday came, they acted completely unaware of everything, despite me having informed them both in writing and over the phone.

They also failed to document my eye information accurately, which is a basic expectation at any eye clinic. Instead of taking accountability, they seemed to expect me to know their internal policies and procedures—none of which were ever communicated to me or given in any form of documentation.

While the staff were kind in their tone, the overall experience was incredibly frustrating and there was a lack of communication..

For your reply message: this wasn’t just about my initial medical appointment but this week as well when I was ordering my lenses. There was a lack of communication even your staff member agreed and said so herself. It’s not about my expectations, but communicating properly to your patients if that is a high expectation to have then ok.
