In today’s world of constant electronic use via computers, tablets, cellphones, videogames, etc., we are experiencing a rapid increase in signs of eye dryness. While it may sound silly, when we do these kinds of tasks, we focus so hard on what we are doing we actually...Just had a very ODD experience. Went to this location because it showed up on my insurance as a provider. I was in the area and decided to stop in to see if I could find a nice frame. No prescription needed, since I have been going to the same optometrist for the 10 years and have a recent prescription. I recently misplaced my glasses that I purchased out pocket. So, I figured I would use my insurance benefits to purchase these. Long story short, they buzzed me in and asked if I was a patient I answered no, just wanted to look at the frames. I started towards the frames and and was asked by one of the 4 people at the front desk if they could see my ID. ID?..do you mean insurance card, she responded, "no, since you're not a patient, we'll need to see your ID for our insurance purposes." I'm thinking, is she serious? She was and very adamant! With hesitation I gave her my DL, watched her take it and review it and returned it. I looked at a few frames but could feel myself getting upset and decided to leave. I understand the business is on the rail line, but you might want to consider relocating your businesa if this has to be ypur regular practice. I hate to say that it was racial, but very much think that was the case. I should have followed my firat mind and went to the Bellaire location. Sad thing is the doctor as on of the 4 people standing behind the desk. I recognized him from the website. Eye Theory Midtown, do better!
The place was so luxurious, smelt very good, and it was very clean. The doctor was very kind and patient and calm. He even gave me a unique appointment compared to other eye doctors I have gone too. He helped me to see the difference between my eye sight with and without a prescription. It made such a big difference for me! The appointment also was affordable!
Wouldn't refund me what they were supposed to until I had my insurance call them. When I originally called they said they would get back to me the next day because they needed to contact billing. No answer, obviously. When I had the insurance company call, billing was surprisingly available right away and they began to process of my refund.
